ALTERNATIVE DOSING (BLUE BOOK / HSgB DRUG LIST)
i) 500 mg IV as a single daily dose for a minimum of two days followed by 500 mg oral dose as a single daily dose to complete a 7 - 10 days course
ii) 500 mg as a single dose by the IV route for 1 or 2 days followed by oral azithromycin at a single daily dose of 250 mg to complete a 7-day course of therapy.
