Category of prescriber A/KK is only approved for indications:
(i) Adult treatment of uncomplicated genital infections due to Chlamydia trichomatis or susceptible Neisseria gonorrhoea.
(ii) Treatment of pertussis

The following indications are still under the category of prescriber A*:
(iii) Treatment of complicated respiratory tract infections;
(iv) Prophylaxis against Mycobacterium avium complex in patients with advanced HIV.

i) 1 g as a single dose;
ii) 500 mg in a single dose on day 1 then 250 mg per day on days 2-5
